Permanent Versus Temporary Work
Key differences and benefits of both Permanent and Temporary roles
The way we view the workforce has changed since the impact of the pandemic and working from home became the norm. Many people are now looking for more flexibility and ownership over their working week as opposed to traditional full-time working, but what are your options?
At Servisource we have a range of roles under Permanent and Temporary contracts meaning there is something to suit the needs of everyone. We’re here to break down the difference between Permanent and Temporary to help guide you into your next role.
Permanent contracts are not only a source of security for the employee but for the employer. Knowing how many employees you have keeps your operation running as a well-oiled machine, however there can always be some spanners in the works, such as sick leave or unexpected departures and at certain times of the year, higher demand in productivity or cover.
That is when employers look to Temp or agency roles to fill any gaps or assist at key times in a company’s performance.
The key different between Permanent and Temporary roles is that Temporary roles have a definitive end date within the contract before the role commences.
Unlike Permanent roles, there is no grace or training period with many Temporary roles, you are expected to be able to hit the ground running and assist the existing teams with achieving their objectives.
While today, many employers are allowing their Permanent staff more flexibility within their working week with more focus on a work life balance, a Temporary role allows for completely ownership over your work-life balance.
