Ward Nurse (Ophthalmic) – Part time – Up to £36,000 pro rata – York

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a leading Eye Hospital in the York area, for an experienced Ophthalmic Nurse to join their highly skilled and supportive team.

This is a permanent position offering generous salary which is reviewed annually. You’ll have access to brilliant company benefits and fantastic learning and development opportunities. The role is 20 hours a week across 2 set days (Tuesdays and Thursdays). 

Role Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for delivering in all aspects of the Ophthalmic service, including surgery
• Providing care to all patients, with specific responsibility for diagnostic testing, pre-operative assessment, peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital

Qualifications:

• RGN or ODP qualification with relevant registration

• A qualification in Ophthalmology or Peri operative care and previous experience in Ophthalmology or Outpatients would be desirable but isn’t not essential

Skills Required:

• Experienced and confident in a day surgery / operating theatre / outpatient setting
• A minimum of one year post qualification experience
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and ongoing learning
